UAE introduces two new visas

  The UAE introduced two new types of visas, Green Visa and Freelance Visa at a press conference last Sunday, 5th September 2021 along with the announcement of The Principles of the 50, as part of the Projects of the 50 campaign, charting the roadmap for the new age of economic, social and political growth of the UAE. Green Visa allows the resident to sponsor their parents and children until the age of 25 and can have 90 – 180 days of grace period once expired. Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade announced that the green visa will not be connected to work permits from companies and is for highly-skilled people, top achiever students, investors and entrepreneurs. Dubai teamed up with tech giants to train 100,000 coders

  Dubai has partnered with some tech giants in order to launch a national plan of attracting, training coders and create 1000 digital companies within five years. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said that tech giants such as Google, Facebook and Amazon has signed an agreement to train 100,000 coders. “We launched a national programme for coders with Google, Microsoft, Amazon AWS, Cisco, IBM, HPE, LinkedIn, Nvidia & Facebook with aims to train 100,000 coders, establish 1,000 tech companies that will go global, & increase start-up investments from Dh1.5 billion to Dh4 billion,” Sheikh Mohammed posted via Twitter. Electronic version of Emirates ID is now implemented

The UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has started issuing a new advanced version of the Emirates ID. As of 1st June 2021, the ICA has made to effect the implementation of the electronic version of Emirates IDs for all renewal applications which will be valid as the physical ID. The electronic version of the Emirates IDs for UAE residents will be made available on the ICA UAE Smart app till the physical cards are printed until further notice. The ICA has coordinated with all the authorities concerned and service and business providers to offer services based on the e-Emirates ID.
